# Track employer-reimbursed subscriptions in SubLedger

> Mark subscriptions your employer reimburses so your SubLedger spend totals reflect what you're actually paying out of pocket. Requires Personal plan or above.

If your employer covers the cost of certain subscriptions — like a software tool, a professional service, or a communication app — you can mark those subscriptions for reimbursement in SubLedger. This keeps your spend summary accurate by reflecting only what you're personally paying, not the gross cost of subscriptions your employer offsets.

<Info>
  Employer reimbursement tracking is available on the **Personal plan** (\$10/month) and all higher plans. If you're on the Free plan, you'll need to upgrade to use this feature.
</Info>

## Why this matters

Your dashboard spend totals are most useful when they represent your actual out-of-pocket costs. Without marking reimbursable subscriptions, your monthly and yearly estimates include charges you'll be paid back for — making your numbers less meaningful for personal budgeting.

Once you mark a subscription as employer-reimbursable, SubLedger excludes it from your personal spend summary while still keeping it visible in your subscription list.

## How to mark a subscription for reimbursement

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the subscription">
    From your dashboard, find the subscription your employer reimburses and click on it to open its details.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable reimbursement tracking">
    In the subscription details panel, locate the **Reimbursement** option and toggle it on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Click **Save**. The subscription will remain in your list but will be excluded from your personal spend totals.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  You can mark multiple subscriptions as reimbursable. Each one you flag reduces your personal monthly and yearly spend totals accordingly.
</Tip>

## What changes in your dashboard

After marking a subscription as reimbursable:

* The subscription stays visible in your dashboard list.
* Your **monthly spend total** and **yearly estimate** decrease by the cost of the reimbursed subscription.
* The subscription is clearly labeled so you can distinguish it from subscriptions you pay out of pocket.

<Warning>
  SubLedger does not communicate with your employer or submit reimbursement claims on your behalf. This feature is for personal tracking only — it helps your spend numbers reflect reality.
