# How to add a new subscription in SubLedger

> Learn how to add any recurring charge to SubLedger by entering its name, cost, billing cycle, and next renewal date — no credit card required to start.

Adding a subscription to SubLedger takes about 30 seconds. You enter four pieces of information and SubLedger immediately folds the charge into your monthly and yearly spend estimates, sets up renewal reminders, and keeps the entry ready to categorize or share.

<Tip>
  You don't need every detail upfront. Start with the name and cost, then add the renewal date later when you have it in front of you.
