# Pay what you can: support SubLedger

> If you're on the free plan and want to support SubLedger's development, you can make a one-time or recurring contribution at any amount you choose.

SubLedger's free tier is permanently free — no trials, no feature cliffs, no pressure to upgrade. If you find SubLedger useful and want to support its continued development, you can make a voluntary contribution from the pricing page.

## How it works

The supporter option appears on the **Free plan** card on the [pricing page](https://app.mysubledger.com/pricing). You choose:

* **Recurring (monthly)** — an ongoing monthly contribution that you can cancel at any time.
* **One-time** — a single contribution with no recurring charges.

Set any dollar amount you'd like — the minimum is \$1. SubLedger processes contributions securely through Stripe, the same payment provider used for all paid plans.

## How to contribute

    Sign in at [app.mysubledger.com](https://app.mysubledger.com) and navigate to **Pricing**, or visit the pricing page directly.

  <Step title="Find the supporter section">
    Under the Free plan card, look for the **Pay what you can** section.

  <Step title="Choose your amount and frequency">
    Select **Recurring** or **One-time**, then enter the dollar amount you'd like to contribute.

  <Step title="Complete checkout">
    Click the contribute button to proceed to Stripe checkout. Enter your payment details and confirm.

  Contributing does not change your plan or unlock additional features. It's a way to support SubLedger while continuing to use the free tier.

## Managing your contribution

If you set up a recurring contribution and want to cancel or adjust it, you can manage it through the Stripe customer portal. Contact [help@mysubledger.com](mailto:help@mysubledger.com) if you need help.
